The Shift

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I’ve come to realize, over the past five months, that all of my choices are very important.  Namely, the choices I make about my health are always very, very important.

I used to live a very unhealthy lifestyle.  I used to find it impossible to choose healthy over unhealthy.  Is anyone reading this in the same boat?

When you put it in perspective, it makes a lot of sense.  My health is what gives me the ability to do things with my life.  Better health makes you able to do more.  It’s really that simple.  Better health translates to more energy, higher self-esteem, less depression, even better finances!  How many people out there are struggling with money due to health problems that could have been avoided by making better decisions in the past?  This list could go on, but the bottom line is this:  It makes sense to live healthy.

I like to think of it like a business.  Lets consider fast food burgers, for example.  What does it really cost to eat fast food hamburgers every week?  Be honest with yourself.  Is that hamburger so delicious that you would rather die younger, feel worse, look worse, have more medical problems, then do without it?

There was a major shift in my life.  I decided, on January 1st 2010, that I couldn’t take it anymore.  I cleaned out my fridge, and restocked it with healthier things.  I purchased new workout gear, and starting moving in a new, opposite direction.  That was that… I haven’t looked back.  Guys, the way I felt before and after the shift is still fresh in my mind.  Let me tell you, the reader, a bold truth:  If you could wrap your mind around how good it feels to live a healthy lifestyle, choosing to live that lifestyle, and forsaking the old one, would be a very easy choice.

I don’t care how inexpensive fast food is.  Those burgers taste good… but they don’t taste that good!  I will never go back!

I will never go back!

I will never go back!

I will never go back!
